Exclusive Collaboration: Dave 1 of Chromeo

Canadian menswear label Frank & Oak teamed up with Dave 1 of the electro-funk duo, Chromeo, to develop a capsule collection born from the romantic flair of southern France. The Capsule Collection has a very classy, sleek look to it. The collab between Dave 1 and Frank & Oak is pretty dope. I will most likely be getting some of his collection.

 

 

Dave's rock & roll aesthetic and Frank & Oak's functional design come to life in the finalized collection. Blending classic black and white with elegant flowers reminiscent of the South of France. Above is a video of the process of the collaboration.

The Capsule Collection was launched on May 21.

Happy Birthday Stevie Wonder!

Stevland Hardaway Morris better known as Stevie Wonder turns 63 today. What a crazy career he has from being a child prodigy who developed into one of the most creative musical figures of the late 20th century. A legend to say the least. I have followed George Esquivel's and his brand esquivel shoes for some time some time, and I have always been impressed by every collection he puts out. The idea of shoes that are not mass produced but hand crafted, elegant but yet fun and innovative, influenced by Americana is one of the things that makes me like fashion as an art expression...Check out his spring/summer collection for 2013

A trend that started in Britain in 2012 which we thought would be a fad that wouldn't catch on, has now started spreading in the US. Celebrities have started to make public appearances in their onesies....everyone seems to be going crazy about them!....Do we like them?? mmmm definitely to watch tv in on a cold winter day but not to go out to the club!...what do you guys think??  

New Vampire Weekend!

Here's a listen to Vampire Weekend's new song from their upcoming album called Modern Vampires Of The City. This first single has the feel of 50's groove with a touch of modern flavor. We like it when fashion goes backwards. The Great Gatsby is already bringing the 1920's style to influence fashion and establish a trend. Brooks Brothers collaborated with the men clothing for the movie, which led them to launch a Great Gatsby Collection. The look for the women was provided by Prada. 
We should wait and see all the Gatsby inspired collections that will come out this year.
